ELECTROLESS NICHEL PLATING

LA ELECTROLESS NICKEL PLATING

Electroless nickel plating is performed on Iron, Die Cast Iron, Copper, Brass, Zamak and Aluminium manufactured articles.

UNI certified process or according to customer specifications. Various thicknesses available on request from 3 to 20 microns.

Self-catalytic chemical treatment with a high degree of hardness and good corrosion resistance. Moreover, it has low electrical contact resistance maintained over time. It enables a very uniform coating to be deposited on the surface of the object to be treated.

Subsequent heat treatment further increases coating hardness.

Surface appearance may be semi-opaque or shiny depending on the base material, whilst the colour is silvery grey.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Acid bath depositing a uniform nickel-phosphorous alloy coating containing 7-9% phosphorous.

Coating hardness is of 46-48° Rockwell. One hour’s heat treatment at 400°C increases hardness to 66-70° Rockwell.
