STAINLESS STEEL AND ALUMINIUM PASSIVATION

ALUMINIUM PASSIVATION

This chemical conversion surface treatment produces a passive film by transforming the surface layers of the aluminium.

It can be used both as final treatment or before coating; in the first case it provides base material with good corrosion resistance and low surface electrical resistance; in the second case it not only improves corrosion resistance but also enhances coating adhesion. Surface appearance may vary from opaque to shiny depending on the base material and degree of satin finish.

This process is used on manufactured articles in Aluminium and its alloys

It can be applied to both small parts and manufactured articles up to 2 metres in length. White colourless and free from hexavalent chromium.

STAINLESS STEEL PASSIVATION

This chemical treatment is used on stainless steel articles to eliminate any contamination from iron or any less noble materials that would prejudice the article’s corrosion resistance.
